Role of the panels
Sector Panels provide a valuable source of advice for the Seafish Board and Executive. They help to identify and evaluate the key issues, concerns and opportunities that the seafood industry is facing.
They also assist the Seafish Board in its decision making by reviewing and commenting on the development of key strategic outputs including Annual and Corporate Plans.
Finally, they help build greater industry awareness of Seafish work programmes by engaging their constituents, cascading information, and seeking feedback through their own networks.
Members of the panels
Sector Panel Chairs Take responsibility for leading Panel meetings and helping to distil the range of views expressed. They Liaise with the Seafish Executive and Panel Secretariat to agree meeting agendas and attend Seafish Board meetings to represent the views of their Sector Panel as appropriate.
Members are appointed to the sector panels in order to Use their sector expertise to present the challenges facing and priorities of their respective industries or representative organisations. They contribute to the Panel agenda, highlighting developing trends and new areas of focus. They provide input as required on key Seafish initiatives, products, and services.
They disseminate information on Seafish products and services to constituents or members to help build awareness of the work Seafish delivers.
