We have launched our 2025 Seafood Processing Survey

We are calling on UK seafood processing businesses to contribute essential data by taking part in our short survey.

We encourage all processors to participate in our annual processing survey, running from April to June. This survey plays a vital role in supporting our industry by gathering key data on staff employment, operating costs, species processed, and turnover. The insights we collect help policymakers make informed decisions while also shedding light on economic trends and business performance.

Year after year, this data provides a valuable snapshot of our industry, helping us understand how external factors influence its performance.

Carlos Paredes, our Economics Project Manager, explains why participation matters:

Seafood processors are an essential part of the UK seafood supply chain. Taking part in our survey allows us to gather data that helps us understand the issues faced by the processing sector and the support businesses might need to respond to these issues.

In past years, our survey has highlighted key challenges facing processors, including labour shortages and rising energy costs. The data we collect has played a crucial role in shaping government policies on issues like access to labour, seafood trade, and energy use. Many businesses have also used our reports to benchmark their performance against similar companies—an important tool when seeking new finance or grant support.
