Summary

Free trade agreements (FTAs) provide for preferential treatment of goods that originate in the countries party to the FTA. The rules that define the origin of goods are therefore an important element of any FTA. This Information Note gives the background to the rules of origin (RoO) as they apply to seafood in the UK and how they may apply in future.
