Takeaway services and full-service restaurants saw a fall in the number of fish served, but more all other services saw a rise, with pubs seeing a 28% increase on seafood servings.

In 2023, UK consumers ate nearly 140,000 tonnes of seafood out of home worth £5.9 billion. This is calculated by the total number of servings sold multiplied by 140g which is the recommended serving size of seafood.

- Quick service Restaurants (excluding fish and chip shops) (41,400 tonnes)
- Fish and chip shops (18,000 tonnes)
- Full-service Restaurants (21,218 tonnes)
- Pubs (24,900 tonnes)
- Travel and leisure (13,800 tonnes)
- Workplace and education (18,300 tonnes
