Pangasius

Pangasianodon hypophthalmus

Pangasius are primarily cultured in high density ponds and the Mekong delta in Vietnam is at the centre of current production.



Pangasius has become a popular aquaculture species across the Asia-Pacific region. Production has grown rapidly since the mid-2000s, and is likely to develop further. Global production in 2018 was almost 2.8 million tonnes.
