Framework for Social Responsibility provides guidance to help the seafood industry define social responsibility in the seafood sector.

The Framework for Social Responsibility has been developed by the Certification and Ratings Collaboration. The participating organizations are the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, Fair Trade USA, Marine Stewardship Council, Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch, and Sustainable Fisheries Partnership.

The Framework is not intended as a new standard or to be used for auditing purposes, but instead to provide a broad overview of the salient topics for social responsibility in seafood, and indicate what tools are available to assess or improve performance

Significance for seafood businesses:

This is a framework (seafood specific) that could help seafood buyers make an informed judgement on the risks they face when sourcing seafood.
