IPNLF’s ambition is to contribute to thriving coastal fisheries, including the people, communities, businesses and seas connected with them. IPNLF is an international charity working across science, policy, and the seafood sector, using the influence of the market to develop and demonstrate the value of one-by-one caught tuna to thriving coastal fisheries, and the people and seas they connect. IPNLF champions the social benefits associated with bygone fisheries and works to evidence and enhance the social value of one-by-one caught tuna to coastal fishing communities. Recognising the challenges faced by these tuna fisheries, IPNLF is working to: raise the profile of one-by-one fisheries internationally; increase their market share; improve traceability and labour standards; and build human capacity through education and training schemes.
Significance for seafood businesses:
Seafood-specific to support fishers. Useful for awareness as an organisation working to support the industry, and improve governance, safety and welfare within the global seafood industry.
