3-week Introduction to Commercial Fishing
Course content
The Introduction to Commercial Fishing (ICF) course gives new entrants a basic knowledge and awareness of different activities that are commonplace aboard commercial fishing vessels.
It is a three week course. It includes four mandatory one-day courses which are legally required to work on a fishing vessel. These are:
- sea survival,
- health and safety,
- first aid and
- firefighting
Once you have completed the course, we can supply you with a ICF New Entrants Card which lists on the back the four basic mandatory courses. Get in touch with us using the contact details at the bottom of the page.
How to apply
Anyone interested in completing this course should contact Seafish using the details at the bottom of this page.
Applicants will be assessed by one of our advisors for suitability and then our approved training providers will contact you regarding availability on upcoming courses.
Funding
The full cost of the Introduction to Commercial Fishing Course is £2,000 however funding may be available for successful applicants.
