Seafish response to A Strategy for Marine Nature Conservation in Scotland and Guidelines on the selection of MPAs and development of the MPA network
Seafish has produced a combined response to two Scottish consultations on the future of the Scottish marine environment. The consultations were on the draft Marine Nature Conservation Strategy for Scotland and on draft guidelines on the selection of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and the development of the MPA network in the seas around Scotland. Time-Temperature Studies in the Distribution of Fresh Fish in Summer
This report describes a temperature survey of fresh fish between the coastal market and the retailer. Over 5,000 temperature measurements were made during the summer months which was an unusually hot summer. These measurements highlight the problem areas in temperature control throughout the distribution chain and shows that fresh fish however good it may be at the points of landing much of it is progressively downgraded or even ruined in quality by the time it reaches the consumer. This report has been produced from a scanned original and may therefore contain some formatting and other inaccuracies.
