There has been a major overhaul of food law by the European Commission in the last few years; this has lead to some confusion and misunderstandings about the burdens this will place on food businesses. The aim of this guidance is to clarify any new requirements for the seafood industry.

Environmental Management Systems - A Fisheries Perspective

This report discusses environmental management systems in the context of fisheries to evaluate their utility to achieve the same aims. The findings indicate that the fishing industry contain the requisite elements (suitable management structures and the ability to collect relevant information) that would enable them to operate such systems.

This guidance was drawn up specifically to address the identification marking of fishery products being imported into the European Union.
