Promoting UK seafood internationally
This page has information on:
The UK has a global reputation for high-quality seafood and is home to some of the freshest fish and shellfish in the world. We also have a history of trading seafood that dates back hundreds of years.
We create connections and provide opportunities for UK companies to promote their products to overseas buyers. We can help you with:
- support at international seafood trade shows
- marketing and promotional assets that businesses can use to help promote your products.
Trade shows are a great opportunity to meet buyers and many large seafood businesses use them as part of their sales and marketing plans. We can support with attendance at seafood trade shows and in some cases will host a stand at events.
Visiting as an exhibitor allowed us to meet face to face with all potential new clients and really understand their businesses, allowing our rapport to grow faster.
Only one week later we are already exporting to new markets and have many more prospective clients!
Upcoming trade shows

We have supported the development of a marketing toolkit to promote UK seafood in overseas markets. It celebrates the quality and sustainability responsibly-sourced nature of seafood from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the skilled communities who produce it.
It was produced in collaboration with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Defra. The toolkit is being used by DBT's global staff in important markets for the UK. It includes a promotional video and a sales deck.
You can find out more about the marketing toolkit in the video below:
