Seafish Northern Ireland Advisory Committee (SNIAC)

The Seafish Northern Ireland Advisory Committee (SNIAC) provides a forum for the seafood industry to input into the work of Seafish.



The Advisory Committee meets around three times a year and SNIAC advises on the work of the Seafish Northern Ireland Project Manager. The membership of SNIAC is representative of the seafood industry in Northern Ireland from catching, to fish sales, to processing and training and is often attended by Government representatives and scientists.

Alternative Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs) in the Irish Sea

These reports detail a study where industry, DARD, AFBI, Poseidon ARM and Seafish have collaborated to define and value alternative potential MCZs in the Irish Sea which represent win/ wins for the NI fishing industry and the environment ahead of the consultation on Tranche 3 MCZs during 2017.
